What’s a good name for my wedding business?
I’m going to try running my own wedding supply website, specialising is wedding jewellery, favors, invites and wedding lingerie. Does anyone have a good idea what to call it?
Speaking from experience (this is what I do for living!)
No one will remember your name, if you use a happy wedding pun.. trust me,
a) every different combination of”wedding words” has been used already
b) the average user gets so confused about remembering, they’ll just bookmark your website.

This is what your clients will be seeing: long lists of “cute” names, all of which will sound exactly the same, one minute later.
- Try something simple and personal, like YOUR name.
- Choose something that starts with “A” if possibly. Be on top of most lists
- If you use two words, make them start with the same letter (ex. “fabulous favors”) they are easier to remember
- Don’t worry too much about the name – worry about your content and marketing. You can brand the dumbest name, just by repetition
Hundreds of companies like the one you are thinking about are currently advertising in our system. I wil tell you, for free, that the successfull ones have totally average names. But really good marketing.
If anything, names like “something blue” simply tell your clients that you lack imagination! They are obvious..
Oh, one more thing: right now, 80% of wedding searches online include the word “cheap” or “budget” in them. Economy is bad. Try “budget wedding supplies” and you ‘ll probably become rich!
