Cheap plastic to use in a silicone mold?
I want to make a prototype for a toy that I’m creating. I’m going to make a plastic prototype, but the only plastic materials I can find to pour into the mold are very expensive urethane’s and resins.
I know they have cheaper plastic out there, otherwise toys would cost a fortune – I just don’t know where to find any. Can anyone help me?
PS: It has to be non-toxic, but the quality doesn’t have to be very good. It’s going to be a solid object.

The problem is “poured” plus “flexible”
Toys are made in expensive injection molds with plastics that are heated or are chemically mixed just prior to being forced into the mold. They are cheap because of the thousands that are made.
Most pourable plastics are hard (acrylic resin) or relatively costly – the silicone material you are using to make the molds and the urethane you have already discovered. Developing a showable prototype is a relatively costly process, due to low volume and detail work. If you were paying people to do the work, you would find the cost of materials is a minor part of the total.
