Wireless, remote-controlled vibrators?

My wife and I are talking about getting a wireless, remote controlled vibrator. Has anyone ever used one of these? Are the ones that are external (wireless butterfly) or internal (egg) more effective? I ask that since DW typically enjoys clitoral stimulation most, and therefore the butterfly seems like it makes more sense. However, from looking online, the butterfly looks like it might be a bit awkward to wear out in public, and maybe the egg would be better.
