Lip 180
Swollen lump on one vaginal lip?
I just got off my period today and during the last few days of my period I’ve felt really itchy and uncomfortable. I thought maybe it was because I had to use these cheap pads that made me chafe. Now that I have gone a night and day without having to wear a pad I’m less itchy but my vulva is still red and I have a small hard lump on one side. It doesn’t cause discomfort unless I touch it, but again I’m still itchy and my skin down there feels rough and kinda flakes off in some places. I’m wondering if this was caused by those stupid cheapo pads or if it could be something more serious. I have a regular gyno but I have been unemployed for over a month now and have no health insurance so i don’t want to dive into a $180 dr’s appointment unless I’m sure its necessary. Can anyone tell me what this is?

I have a hard lump that has been there forever and occasionally swells up. The doctor has told me it’s fairly common, nothing to worry about. Maybe this is the first time you have noticed it because you are getting uncomfortable down there.
It might be a yeast infection, so you might want to go to the drug store and pick up some vagisil or something along those lines. Much cheaper than going to the doctor without insurance, and if it doesn’t work, you will be able to go from there and maybe seek medical attention. I wouldn’t worry about it too much though, it’s such a sensitive area that anything can cause irritation.
