Can court demand joint bank statements in divorce for non-divorcing party?
My fiance is getting divorced and the judge ordered our joint bank statements be produced for her. I don’t want her to see my monthly earnings because they are none of her business and not a party to this case. We have two accounts, each of us is primary on one of them. I just want to know if this is legal in Minnesota. PLEASE HELP!
Yes. If you don’t turn them over they will subpoena them from the bank. By law a joint account belongs to both of you and the court must have knowledge of all of his assets. Next time don’t open a joint account with a married man, unless he is married to you.
