Which type of lame fabric is best for a costume similar to this dress?

There are all types of lame fabric and I’m not sure which to use. Tissue lame? Liquid lame?
As someone who has sewn for over thirty five years, Lame fabrics are right at the top of my hate list. I have yet to have a good experience sewing a lame fabric. If you want to attempt this dress, look for a spandex liquid metal fabric, and be sure it’s reasonably soft and sew-able. Some metallic look spandexes used for skating and dance are soft and not to difficult to sew, they don’t have the hard metal dots on them. Stay away from anything with hard metal dots laminated to the fabric and they can damage the sewing machine. I broke a needle while sewing this fabric and the needle tip flew up and hit me on the nose less than an inch from my eye. I almost ended up with a needle in my eye, and no fabric is worth that! If you do use a lame with hard metal dots, try to remove the dots from seams without ripping the fabric. It should be available at stores that carry bridal and evening fabrics or at a store that carries fabrics for dance and skating costumes.
