What images are legally authorized to use to create designs?
I want to create presentations with bands or celebrities for myspace, but I'm not sure I can legally use images. I have read some of "fair use" but I found nothing related to what I need. I just want use the images and editing to create presentations or wallpapers. I am not referring to the images that someone has already published by the addition of words or different effects on a staff person or pictures at a concert. I just want to use the images of the bands or logo to create my own image. I have no problem giving credit the site I found the photo, but do not know if this is enough. Thanks for any help.
Fair use allows you to use an image satirically, or educational purposes. Can not be used for decoration, and certainly not for profit. You can not use a copyrighted image (and they are all, if they have a copyright notice or not) without the express permission – just give insufficient credit. For images, you can use for free search for images licensed under "Creative Commons" or see http:// commons.wikimedia.org / wiki / Home wikimedia site. The owners of protected content can be a Creative Commons license that basically says that you can Use your images as you wish, provided it is non-profit.
