Bachelorette Party Favors
Is it ok to ask guests of a Bachelorette party to pay some of the cost?
I’m helping host a tame Bachelorette party soon, and I know it’s customary for the bridesmaids to pick up the tab for the party. However, there are only 3 bridesmaids and one is the bride’s little sister who is only 15. So basically it’s two girls fresh out of college with salries that don’t allow for the kind of day we’re planning. We’re already footing the bill for the hotel rooms, all the brides stuff, not to mention decorations and favors. A few of the things we’re considering are getting manicures, getting our makeup done, and going out to dinner. Would it be appropriate to ask everyone other than the bride to pay their own bill for these other things? If it were a normal bachelorette party I know everyone would be paying for their own drinks so wouldn’t it kind of balance out?
When I went to my cousin’s bachelorette party I fully intended to pay my own way. Now if you were just throwing a party somewhere, I would say no, but with what you have planned, I would simply talk with the girls invited and let them know what’s going on.
